A Resolution: To the Annual Convention of the Democratic Party of Mason County
A Resolution to present our concerns regarding President Donald J. Trump’s actions to abrogate the powers granted to the United States Congress, Judiciary, and the People by the Constitution.
Whereas President Donald J. Trump has usurped the powers of Congress and the People to consolidate such powers in his own hands,
And whereas President Donald J. Trump has abused the power of the president’s executive orders treating them as properly introduced and passed legislation in Congress,
And whereas President Donald J. Trump routinely attempts to avoid the “advise and consent” obligation of the United States Senate,
And whereas President Donald J. Trump has established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as part of and subservient to the United States Digital Service,
And whereas the Special Government Employee appointed to head DOGE is subject to supervision by the head of the United States Digital Service (USDS),
And whereas President Donald J. Trump has illegitimately appointed Elon Musk to oversee the DOGE without Senate confirmation or under the direct supervision of the head of USDS.
And whereas the official web site of USDS does not appear to have an appointed supervisor, And whereas the website of DOGE has only the following information
An official website of the United States government Department of Government Efficiency The people voted for major reform.
And whereas Elon Musk and his self-appointed “special government employees” appear to have unfettered access to all public, private, and classified government information is a clear and present danger to National Security,
And whereas such information is intended to be of very limited access by accredited, knowledgeable and sworn Civil Service employees only,
And whereas the actions of President Donald J. Trump, Elon Musk and those unqualified and unvetted individuals chosen by Elon Musk to invade the People’s private information are intolerable and unacceptable o the People of the United States,
And whereas the properly appointed and vetted employees of numerous agencies have been prevented from performing their duties and furthermore have been physically barred from the premises of their agencies,
And whereas many Presidentially appointed, Senate confirmed and other temporally appointed heads of United States government departments and agencies, have permitted unqualified DOGE employees unfettered access to all data under their control, whether public, private, confidential, or classified,
And whereas these actions of President Trump by trying to make law and do things that in any other Presidential Administration required Congressional legislation and approval means that President Trump is clearly ignoring the “separation of powers” that keeps all three branches of the government separate and working without one branch having more power than the other.
Therefore, the members of the Democratic Party of Mason County, Michigan: On behalf of the residents of Mason County, the State of Michigan, and the United States of America
Do hereby Resolve that Elon Musk be removed from holding a position of public trust within any office of the United States,
Be it further resolved that Elon Musk be barred from the premises of any United States government building or property,
Be it further Resolved that any appointed official or agency head who allowed the DOGE access to the information held by that agency in sacred public trust be officially reprimanded and removed from office,
Be it further Resolved that the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate open hearings in their appropriate committees into this breach of the People’s information and weigh impeachment charges of those officials responsible,
Be it further Resolved that the U.S. Congress in each House prepare and serve a Letter of Censure to President Donald J. Trump for his dictatorial treatment and disdain for the propriety of his Office,
Be it further Resolved that we tell the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate that they should fight to return to us the people whom they work and serve in their elected positions of government to bring back “separation of powers” to the U.S. government.
