CONSIDER RUNNING FOR ELECTED OFFICE
Running for elected office is a wonderful way to share your knowledge, skills, experiences, values and motivations to make a difference in your community.
In many places, Mason County among them, candidates often run unopposed, which is why we need community champions like you to step up and give voters a choice.
There is a variety of elected offices to consider on all levels of government, with the greatest need for candidates on the local level, including county and city councils, school boards, and township supervisors, clerks and treasurers.
Running for elected office takes a commitment of time and resources, but the Mason County Democratic Party is here to assist Democratic candidates in their journey — from helping to identify the right office for your aspirations to guiding you in assembling an effective campaign team, and more.
If you are not currently a member of the Mason County Democratic Party that's a great place to start.

Shared training department of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC) is the Best Practices Institute.
The Best Practices Institute (BPI) offers a variety of ongoing and strategic campaign trainings to Democrat activists, organizers, candidates, and professional staff across the country. Training topics range from field organizing to digital mobilization, data to finance, communications to compliance, and leadership development to movement building.
